Self Talk

Self-talk. Self-dabba as it is called using negative connotations.

What you think of yourself is more important that anything else. Every action, every project, every hour you spend is done to achieve a sense of contentment with yourself and who you are.

Kuch to log kahenge- Take Science Stream beta, but enjoy your job,  wear makeup when you go outside, don't overdo it,  don't waste so much time with friends, go outside also,  lose some weight, gain some weight, dress up a little, don't wear revealing clothes, etc. It's a never ending , contradictory, infuriating, depressing list of prerequisites for being a satisfactory person. It could be your loving parents, your toxic friends, your toxic parents or your loving friends, but no one's approval should be the determining factor for your happiness.

Think about it. It's ridiculous! The experiences of that person have shaped their judgement. And you , in order to 'make them happy', have forsaken your life to fulfill those judgements. And it may start as, just a small thing to 'please people' or to 'keep name in society', but where's the line? Where's the line between what you think of yourself and your supposed inadequacies that have been imposed upon you?

When the line starts to blur, and you start to scrutinize yourself and hold the scathing knife to your neck, you don't know who to blame. What you say to yourself, how you judge your actions as right or wrong, is and will always be more important. Be kind to yourself. Treat yourself as a real person who makes mistakes, but who always does what their own conscience deems right.

Now, being true to yourself doesn't always entail bringing down other people. You can be kind and you can be yourself.

So please eavesdrop on your conversation with yourself. Pay attention to whether you are pushing yourself to be the person you want to be or the utopian creature society has made for you.
